In today’s exercise, you’ll find out the #1 thing you need to start your own Truce With Food® – which also happens to be the #1 thing emotional and intuitive eating spaces leave out!
My last post suggested a more powerful way to reach your health and wellness goals is to ask yourself,
“Who do I have to become?” to be the person who stops self-sabotaging habits like fighting food.
Because, when we want to stop habits like overeating (versus start new habits like eat more veggies or get to the gym 4 days a week), the linchpin to lasting change is not SMART goals like “lose 30 pounds by Memorial Day.” And focusing on how you want to feel is ineffective because we often overeat or binge to feel free!
To achieve our most elusive health and wellness goals,
we must learn how to own and rewrite our story.
We need a framework or process that takes us through owning our story – a story aligned with our radical truth. A process that is more Choose Your Own Adventure than “do this, not that.” Because if our new story doesn’t free us to be our true selves, change won’t last. And our old habits will come back.
Being healthy and fully alive in our culture is a revolutionary act. Choosing to have a Truce with Food is choosing to join the revolution.
In this video, you’ll:
- Identify the connection between falling “off track” and your story.
- See how your old story slams the breaks on your food and health goals
- Receive a tool you can use right away to write your new story and begin regaining control of your life and food choices.
Before we get started, be sure you’re somewhere you won’t be interrupted for about 30 minutes. Grab a pencil and paper or download this worksheet. Note: The worksheet can be printed and filled out by hand -or- you can download a copy and then type your answers directly in the PDF. Just be sure to save your work when you’re done.
